Jr. Gold

To access the Junior Gold team page, use the "High School" menu along the top of the LHA website.

The Junior Gold level is a traveling program for high school players not playing for their high school.

For the 2011-12 season, we anticipate having three teams.

A & B (Birth dates 7/1/92 – 6/30/96)

U16 (Birth dates 7/1/94 – 6/30/96).

All teams play in tournaments and can advance to post season District, Regional & State tournaments. With scrimmages, Jr. Gold teams play approximately 35-45 games.  They have a little more than 1 to 1 game to practice ratio, leaving plenty of time for part-time jobs The B team plays in District 8 and the A & 16U team play in the Metro Hockey League (MHL): http://www.metrohockeyleague.org/page/show/105485-home.

Our Junior Gold teams have won two state championships and have represented LHA in many state tournaments.

 Jr. Gold 2011-2012 Information

The Junior Gold teams are formed after the High School tryouts are completed

Tryouts start Monday, 11/21, at 6:30 p.m. at Ames (see Tryout Schedule).

Jr. Gold follows the same tryout process and equipment requirements as the high schools.

Players can wait until after High School tryouts are complete to register.

Note: High school team selections and Jr. Gold tryouts may overlap for some players, please register and attend the first tryout you can make it to.

Please register (see Registration page) and bring the parent signed paperwork (Consent to Treat form) and a copy of your birth certificate to tryouts.

Players that aren’t ready to make the commitment can do a partial registration, which includes just the USA/MN Hockey registration ($40) and a parent signed “Consent to Treat” form.  Lastly, at a minimum come and watch the first night of tryouts, if you choose you can register and skate Tuesday night.  Every year I hear from players later in December that see how much fun their friends are having and want to join a team but it’s too late then, don’t make that mistake.

All players must be fully registered prior to the first practice, which is within days of the competition of tryouts
