Let’s Play Hockey, the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Hockey will partner for the eighth year for the annual Used Hockey Equipment Drive across the Twin Cities. Berger Transfer will place drop-off boxes throughout the Twin Cities at select arenas and hockey shops starting Monday, Aug. 29 through Monday, Sept. 26. From 9 a.m. - noon on Saturday, Oct. 8, thousands of pieces of donated equipment will be distributed for free to hockey associations and individuals at Xcel Energy Center. Goalie equipment, as well as sticks and helmets are the most in need.

Over seven years, the Used Hockey Equipment Drive has donated more than 19,000 pieces of hockey gear to over 3,500 people. There has been enough donated equipment to fill more than three semi-trailers.

“We are excited to continue with the 8th annual Used Hockey Equipment Drive,” said Bryan Zollman, publisher of Let’s Play Hockey. “We encourage anyone with old hockey equipment laying around their house or in their garage to donate it to the drive. Doing so will give other young hockey players the opportunity to get involved and enjoy the great game of hockey.”
