Defensive star scores 70+ points in college career!

LHA is proud to announce that Alexis Joyce was named Defensive Player of the Month for December! Now a Senior at Bemidji State,  Joyce’s all-around excellence propelled Bemidji State to a 5-1-0 record in December – including a program record-tying five-game winning streak to close the month.

According the WCHA Press Release forwarded to us by a big fan (her uncle Pat Randall),  we learned that Alexis "led the WCHA with a plus-9 rating, the product of a personal offensive surge that included three goals and three assists, along with a defensive effort in which she contributed eight blocked shots to a BSU team that allowed just 1.67 goals per game."

One of only three defensemen in Bemidji State history with 70 career points, Joyce ended the month with points in three of her final four contests. She is one of 3 B.S.U. defensemen to accomplish this in her career.

"She was also voted WCHA defense player of the week ending 12/9 with 3 goals and 1 assist. And was just voted WCHA defense player of the month with 6 goals and 6 assists and a plus 9 during December," wrote Randall who also noted that after her freshman season she was named to the WCHA all rookie team.

Congratulations to Alexi, who has had an amazing career at Bemidji State! We can't believe she is a senior!  It seems like just yesterday that she was shutting down the top teams in the state as a member of the Lakeville girls varsity team,  playing in multiple big time state tourney games for the Panthers!
